Ugh! I wanna love this thing ... limited booster seat fit and chair choices due to Botero-esque design aesthetic
I'll start with the ... not ideal - measurements that are for me unfortunate and I'd wish I'd asked for before purchase of something this expensive, which hopefully benefits someone:
With 2 extension panels - our ideal everyday length - the length of the opening on the sides of the table is only 41" due to the incredible table leg girth (8 15/16"), but worse are the height of the openings at the ends of the table at only 25 3/4" due to the same aesthetic (the side openings are 27 3/4" high to bottom of the table). Most chairs I'm interested in have a total at-the-floor leg width between 21-22" and have arms which are 27" high. This means 2 chairs - of the kind I really want - won't fit on the sides with 2 panels - the legs will at best fight - so get over it and buy different chairs, fine, but worse is a standard booster seat and/or chairs with arms will never fit under the ends of the table; and that's a bit frustrating. Frustrating enough I'd considered returning the table but for the nightmare that it probably is - this thing arrived on a pallet! - and like I said I really want to love it.
The booster seat at the end of the table is just something personal that we're stubborn to give up because we, but more importantly our little one loves it! And yes, it's solvable, but annoying to need to and perhaps not ideal.
Obviously we can add a third panel to accommodate the chairs we want - and feel like we're dinning in an empty conference room - or just get different chairs,…
Dings on furniture during shipping or from factory
Received the Transformer Table and Bench on 12/22/2021. My wife’s coworkers recommended this table and bench to us because of the good quality workmanship, so this holiday season we decided to buy it. The bench my wife and I received had dings on it. This could have been caused during shipping or at the factory. We contacted customer service to get it replaced but it just seems to be too difficult for my wife and I to get it exchanged. It is a very heavy product and to have to ask the movers to carry it back out and carry in the replacement is going to be a hassle and expensive. A friend of ours mentioned we could use filler of some type to try to hide the dings, but we don’t know how to do that. We understand that naturally furniture will eventually accumulate dents and dings but we don’t appreciate that the items arrived with dings on it before we even used it.
I relaly like the quality of this table and wood, it really shows in the grains and the craftsmanship.
You can tell that this will stay in my home for a long time. I did wait a little longer then excepted but in todays world i totally accept that.
Real good solution and product
Ordered the full dining bundle that icludes the 2 benches and i can honestly say that for the firs time in my life i have MORE space! It can easily be stored away and put back together even by my 2 kids.
Amazing i for sure recommend this.
Solid stable table
We just got our table deluvered yesterday, only 9 days after ordering it, and I had been a little nervous after reading some of the other reviews. Overall, I love our new table and it will make D&D night with our party of 6 fun without having to have a huge table 24/7. It did come with two absolutely tiny scrapes that aren't even worth covering up (although the extra touch-up stain was a nice extra!). At first we thought one of the leaves wouldn't go together, but one of the latches was just flipped up when it should have been flipped down, so that was our mistake. As soon as we moved it everything fit together perfectly. It is really stable, even when fully expanded. It is really easy to put the leaves in and take them out. The leaves are heavy, but that's what you get with solid hardwood! It slides over both carpet and hard floors without any difficulty. The coffee table is also very nice, though there is a small learning curve with putting the leaves in it. I didn't line it up right the first time and almost dropped a leaf! By the third one everything was so much easier. Setting up and taking down the table can 100% be done by one person, but it would be easier with 2.
