Transformer Bench 3.0

I bought this table in mahogany finish back in February. I initially was told it would ship no later than 23 April. When April came and went, I emailed my customer service rep to ask about an update. She responded quickly said it would be later in May around the week of 8 May. Then, I made the mistake of looking for reviews/other customers experiences again and discovered an absolute trove of negative reviews of people waiting a year plus for the table/tables arriving with defects/issues and the TT customer service not assisting. Of course I re emailed my rep for another question on when I’d get notification that the shipment was underway because I was now nervous about my purchase. I didn’t get a response back for almost a week. I messaged their IG and Facebook and also got nothing. I sent more emails to my rep. So now I’m totally freaked out thinking I have $1900 into a table and got ghosted. Luckily, my rep Finally then came back on my 3rd email/7 day mark after my first follow up email and said it would ship the next day. It left Canada on a Wednesday and arrived here in SC on Monday. Packaging was great and table arrived in great condition. It’s beautiful and everything we hoped it would be! We checked that all the leaves fit and fully expanded and contracted it. Super easy to do on your own as well (I’m a 140 pound woman). We’re very pleased with the quality and craftsmanship of the table and would recommend it to others. However, if you need something now or are like me and get nervous from some negative reviews, hold off until production is back up!

The table is functionally exactly as marketed. High quality, easy to slide. Ours has small dents in one of the panels and one section of the top side doesn't quite sit flush with the panels... a couple millimeters. But my low rating isn't on the table really. What breaks my heart is that Transformer Table don't explicitly say that the Dark Oak is deeply textured (not anywhere I can find anyway). And this is not a natural wood grain, but something machined into the surface. I would call it wire brushed (you could shred cheese on it). It has a plastic feel, durable no doubt, but not the natural feel of hardwood we had hoped. It has the look of a veneer or something applied to the surface. Looking back, I should have trusted the photos or simply asked the question, but I remember thinking that why in the world would they texturize a table they are marketing as "the only table you'll ever need?" It must be a trick of the light... This is a piece of artwork that would sit in a formal dining room and get used three times a year, not something for families with kids who spill, paint, draw, pot plants, glue things randomly, and do homework with pencils on paper. The thought of trying to clean any substance that happens to dry from the cracks gives me angina. Having to put something hard and smooth on the table just to sign a document would be impractical at best. I really wanted to love this table, but it just won't work for our lives. Please Transformer Table, if you're proud of this finish, then own it. FULLY describe the finish in the description or the FAQ.

Seriously considering hosting a sippin' sit for my new table and bench. I ordered the arctic white and matching bench. It arrived within two weeks and the setup was very easy. I am not the biggest fan of the coffee table, but it is growing on me.

I am thoroughly delighted with the quality and versatility of the transformer table. Mine has the American Mahogany finish and the depth of color is incredible. I am happy I took the leap of ordering this table online. It’s more than I had hoped.
