What are the dimensions of the extendable dining bench?

The Nova extendable dining bench is designed to stay compact for everyday use while expanding easily when more seating is needed. When closed, the bench measures 40.39″ long, 14.25″ wide, and 18.2″ high. Fully extended, it reaches 104.1″ in length while maintaining the same width and height. This allows the bench to comfortably seat up to six people without taking up unnecessary space when not in use.

How deep should a dining bench be?

A dining bench should be deep enough to provide comfortable seating while remaining easy to move around and tuck neatly under the table. The Nova extendable dining bench is designed with this balance in mind, featuring a depth of 14.25″. This depth offers proper support for relaxed dining without feeling bulky, preserves legroom, and keeps the dining area visually open, making it an ideal fit for both everyday meals and extended gathering.

How long should a dining bench be compared to a table?

A dining bench should typically be slightly shorter than the table it’s paired with, leaving a bit of space at each end for comfort and visual balance. As a general rule, a bench that’s 8–12″ shorter than the table length works well, allowing people to sit and stand easily without crowding table legs. An extendable bench offers even more flexibility, adjusting as the table expands so proportions stay balanced whether you’re dining day to day or seating more guests.

How do I clean my wood dining bench?

To clean your wood dining bench, start with regular, gentle care. For everyday maintenance, wipe the surface with a soft, slightly damp cloth to remove dust and debris. If needed, follow with a mild soap diluted in water, then dry the bench thoroughly to prevent moisture from settling into the wood. Avoid abrasive pads or harsh cleaners, as they can damage the finish over time. Finally, using seat cushions or textiles during extended use can help reduce wear and keep the surface looking its best.

What is an extendable bench?

An extendable bench is a flexible seating solution designed to adjust as your guest list grows. It stays compact for everyday use, then extends smoothly to provide additional seating when needed. Rather than adding extra chairs or cluttering your space, an extendable bench adapts to the table and the moment. This makes it ideal for modern homes that value clean design, efficient use of space, and the ability to host comfortably without compromising the look or flow of the room.

What are the benefits of an extendable bench?

The main benefit of an extendable bench is flexibility without added clutter. It provides compact, everyday seating while expanding easily when more guests arrive, allowing you to host comfortably without bringing in extra chairs. An extendable bench also keeps the dining space visually clean and cohesive, especially when paired with an extendable table. Designed to adapt to changing needs, the Nova Dining Bench supports everything from daily meals to larger gatherings, making it a practical, space-efficient solution for homes that value both design and functionality.

Nova dining room chairs
It took over a year to find dining room chairs to go with my round glass table. The original chairs, purchased along with a table from another company, were defective. When I saw these, I thought they would do for now until I could find something nicer. I’m very satisfied with these chairs. They’re comfortable and look great. The best part is, they were half the cost of the chairs I returned.

Love the modern Scandi look!
Just renovated our kitchen and the table blends very well with our white oak floors and natural maple cabinets. I really appreciate the latches that hold the leaves in place making the table feel rock solid. The chairs are comfortable and I love that I can stack 2 and push them into a closet when I don’t need them. I was concerned that the leaves would be too heavy for me to manage, but I’m doing just fine with them. I really love the minimalist design. I also appreciate your liberal return policy. The table is too expensive to be stuck with if it wasn’t right for me. I’ll be keeping it for sure, but it gave me great comfort to have the option to send it back.
